I was online shopping for rotors since i already have pads and autozone are expensive about 40 bucks rach rotor but on rockauto they have cheaper rotors. Got one under economy section like for 15 bucks. I need to know if anyone who buy parts from rockauto is economy section good or bad? I need brakes badly but too broke to get more expensive pnes.

Is having your current rotors turned not an option?

I bought the cheap Durago rear rotors then painted them. They have been fine, but I should have bought the coated version to save time.

Rock Auto is wholesale aftermarket. They're not going to sell eBay no name crap but they often false advertise, ship the "next best" part or hit u with high shipping costs. Which is where I think they'll get you, on the shipping. Prob cheapest you'll get is for $50 and you'll wait a week to get it during peak holiday season when all the ups/FedEx workers are pissed off and tired so they throw packages hard and fast into the trucks. There is cheap, and there is good.

Cheap rotors sometime's don't have the same amount of metal in them. They tend to warp. Then you will need to replace them at additional cost and labor.

Good rotors last longer, and are cheaper in the long run. They also require less labor since you won't need to do the same work twice.

These are your brakes. Brakes are nice to have.

What is your life worth?

I've had good luck with Centrex rotors. Not the cheapest, but pretty good.

Agree with JvG. I got some Centric front rotors on Amazon for $30 each, and the rears were $18 each. Shipping was free. I mean, how much cheaper than that can they get? I did this job on a budget as well, but brakes are something into which you should really try to put a little extra money if you can. Good quality rotors too, and I like the black finish because the painted part doesn't develop rust.

Front part number was
120.42043

Rear
120.42059

Get the cheapest rotors you can find anywhere. You're not going to have a problem.

Over the years, I've landed on brake pads that performed and lasted better than others with very little brake dust.

I didn't know why the pads were performing so well until I read this link and found the following information about brake pad ratings. My favorite pads are GG rated Wagner Thermoquiet and Akebono Performance.

https://idpartsblog.com/2019/04/11/w...-ratings-mean/

E: coefficient of friction = .25 – .35
F: coefficient of friction = .35 – .45
G: coefficient of friction = .45 – .55
H: coefficient of friction = .55 – .65

Duralast Gold - FE
Duralast Max - FF
Nissan Ceramic - FF
Toyota Ceramic - FG
Akebono ProAct - FG
Akebono Performance - GG
Wagner ThermoQuiet - GG

Performance Friction Carbon Metallic - GG

Unconfirmed ratings
Hawk HPS - FF
Hawk HP+ - GG
