Back on the scene....

So it's been over 12yrs since I've sold my old Maxima and
been on here... but it looks like I'm back.. lol. Scooped up a 99GXE 5spd for dirt cheap, that's in amazing condition.
So I need refreshers updates, etc.. lel. I'm excited to get back in and research what new ideas have surfaced with 4th gens. I'm in no rush to build but its going to be a build..
I've missed driving my old Maxima(Maxine) but I look forward to building something better and more reliable.. lol
pics of my old Maxima and pic of the one I just picked up today

Awesome!

Good for you man. How many miles on the 99 5speed you just picked up? Is it CA or Fed spec?
Any ses codes?

I have a 99 CA spec 5 speed. Recently got the injectors rebuilt & installed a south bend stage II clutch kit, Awesome awesome clutch!

Welcome back.

I wouldn't say there's a whole lot of new stuff for these cars. The newest I'd say is swapping in the newer 7th gen VQ35 (Gen II VQ35DE )
A good amount of aftermarket for these cars has dried up, unfortunately.

Hey Schmell,

What have you done on your 97? What kind of tune? and what is an "FBO"?

Thanks!

I don't want to hijack his thread, but here is most of what I've done to the car over the years. https://maxima.org/forums/members-ri...s-4th-gen.html
I've tuned with emanage ultimate and Nistune.
FBO = full bolt ons.

Any other questions, please message me or ask in the thread I linked.

Welcome back! Looking forward to a build thread on your new Max.

Besides being MOTM, wasn't your Max also featured in the Maxima.org calendar many years back? Looks very familiar

Welcome back! I heard those bra bumper covers carry lots of dirt and grime underneath... It's going to be interesting to see how it looks when removed. Overall looks very clean and look forward to what your plans are for it.

Thanks! The exterior needs quite a bit of work but mechanically, it's great and the interior is close to perfect. It rides so smooth though.
