Rear TC O-ring Queation

Im about to finally fix my leaking rear TC o-ring, but want to make sure Im getting the right o-rings before I start. Would hate to get it all apart just to find out I dont have the right parts to fix it. Does this gasket set have what I need, mainly the rear o-rings?

Boss, I don't think that kit is what you are after for a rear valve cover gasket job. You need Fel-Pro numbers or equivalent: VS50494R (yes I know it is the front and rear VC gaskets), MS91253, 61064 (some pull the throttle body for more access, some leave it attached to the plenum. Dealer's choice there), and 72521. You will also need a tube of sealant, I prefer Permatex Ultra Black but again Dealer's choice. Also there is a small coolant hose under the intake plenum. I couldn't find the OE part number quickly but if you have this much removed I would encourage you to replace it at this time. Again that decision is up to you.

Ummm, I guess I needed to clarify that Im doing the rear timing cover(TC) o-rings, not valve cover gaskets.

that kit is for basically everythjng you can get to without taking off the timing cover. in order to do the REAR timing cover, you HAVE to take off the timing cover, guides, chains, tensioner, passenger mount and crankshaft pulley. the rear timing civer is behind all of that and while your there replace the oil pump, front main seal, tensioners, and water pump

Yes, I know I have to take all that off to get to then. So where can I get the o-rings or does anybody have a part number for them?

hmm well gotta narrow it down first, theres like 2 seals there i think, imma look at my manual right quick, because if so you'd rather just do all the seals in the crankshaft/heart area

Update

after looking at the manual, the timing cover as a whole has a layer of ultragrey gasket maker in it between the cylinderhead to inner timing cover, then inner timing to outer timing, and then you have your main oil seal which is accessible without taking off the timing cover, just remove the crankshaft pulley, belts and position sensor, use a o-ring puller to extract it, and tap the new one back in with a large socket(add layers of tape to the socket so you dont damage the surface). parts are at rock auto "front main oil seal".

I think you are forgetting the two o-rings that go between the rear timing cover and the block (see photo above). These are notorious for leaking on these cars as they age. From what I see in the FSM, there are 6 total o-rings to do this job; the front crankshaft oil seal, 2 for the water pump and 3 inbetween the block and rear timing cover. The gasket set I pictured in my first post has 7 o-rings and the two smaller ones appear to be the two in question.

I have the 2 or 3 orings but your best bet is to purchase an Metric & SAE Oring set...
Amazon Amazon
cause the dealer isn't stocking old car parts anymore....they are on the 8th Gen.
