Installing CAI, what to use for the rubber gasket....

What should I use on the hole for the cai? Its a place racing one. After I cut the hole it needs that rubber gasket so the pipe doesnt move around and such. Would window dressing work? And no, I dont have this peice, I just got it used from Kirk (1/3 There, 2/3 to go) and he couldnt get his off, but I assuming just like window dressing or weather stripping? What do you think, Im gonna put this thing in on saturday and have some fun afterwords! hehehe. Thanks!

the rubber gasket is to prevent rust.. which it won't do anyway.. just put some touch up paint around the hole and you are good to go.. don't worry about the rubber thing.. all the old CAI's diddn't come with it.. mind doesn't ither..

Alight......but would weather stripping help it all, just put it around the hole there? Ive got loads of it and it helps a lot with rattles and what not. Should I try that out with it? Thanks though, if all else fails I'll just plug it in.

Also, does anyone have a scanned template they can post for the PR CAI? My cars a 95. There is no template but thats just a peice of paper anyway....anyone be able to send that my way?

well, personally what i would do is put touch up paint on the area you cut (as sprint said... to prevent rust) and then use the weatherstripping. I mean, you have it - why not use it. i wouldn't want the pipe banging against the metal anyways. if you want to put something like place racing includes in the kit i would suggest maybe rubber door moulding? that should work.

Go to auto parts store and get spray rust preventive and put the weatherstrip if you want. If you cut out the hole correctly, there is not going to be that much play there anyway, but i do know what you mean. Weatherstrip will do just fine. BTW you may want to call PR and ask them if they can mail you one, if they fax it, is going to shrink and not turn out correctly. Just have them mail you one right away. Good luck.

You can always get a piece of fuel line or vacuum hose and split it on one side.

Ok, got the templates Faxed and in my hands. I measured the BIG hole and its 3.2" so it looks right. How far from one end to end should the template itself be so I know if its ALL the right size?

I used split wire loom, worked very well. The piece with the PR CAI was incredibly difficult to get on anyway so I eliminated it.

the template should have a place where screws should line up. make sure you line up the screws then tape it down real good...then mark where you're gonna drill...then go!
