HELP!!! Car starts then dies in D security light

1999 i30t battery died. I replaced valve cover gaskets and coil packs and plugs cleaned egr, IACV, TB etc. car ran and drove after service with a jump. It has had a dead battery, and I didn’t want to replace battery until the service was complete.

anyway, I was able to jump it and drive it. Now, when I jump it, it starts and runs (with security light lit). As soon as I put it in Drive, it stalls. I do not have a key fob either (no remote keyless).

is there a reset procedure?

Manual says you can use key to open doors or open trunk, it will cancel the arm phase. Try it and let us know.

Well, I cycled key in doors and trunk. Didn’t fix.
I found on this site another option...

Turned key to on position, off for ten seconds, turned to on position. Until security light went away. It worked.

I'm impressed. Someone found the answer using the search function, and was kind enough to return to the thread to post the solution. I wish more people would follow through on the second part.

Nicely done 1999i30t.

oh trust me, I had trouble with google and here. Everything I searched dealt with remote keyless. And I don’t have a fob. And every other time I jumped the car, no problem. This time, security light solid. And blinking when off. Then, I got lucky and found that post way down the line . I always google YouTube and forum everything and anything before I post lol.

I didn't have a key fob for a long time, I used to open the trunk only, with the key. There is a tiny, magnet and rf chip made into the trunk latch/key lock its on the inside of the trunk lid. when you open the trunk, it swings the chip infront of the magnet.. simple fix if you don't have either.. Open the Hood, and pull the security Fuse. Car will start and run just fine, if you think security is the problem. Mine has been without for years.
