Crankshaft position sensor/s keeps failing

first post maybe got deleted or something idk,

I have a 96 maxima with about 215k miles
it had a rough start and rough idle, but after changing the spark plugs, a few ignition coils, the fuel pump, and the fuel filter it ran a lot better
the car still has a rough start and high idle but at high speeds or rpms above 3000 she runs great.

the car has crank but no started on me about 3 times now
-the first time I changes the ecu and the crank position sensors and it started up
-the ecu is for an automatic transmission because that is all I could find
-the second time I reconnected the crank position sensors and it started up
-the third time I changed the crank positions sensors and it started up again

now it has crank no started on me again, and I will change the cam and crank positions sensors

is there a simple reason these sensors keep failing on me? could the ecu being for an automatic cause problems?

I have codes:
p1400
p1445
p1605
p0600
p1320
p0500

none of these should cause a no start though right?

I have it at the nissan dealer hoping they could give some insight, but they only could tell me the injection pulse is off, and I think that is the crankshaft pos sensor failing.
I read in these forums that it could be the iacv, and Im seeing online that it could be the pcm/ecu/ecm but I have already changed that and it wasn't the issue.

Replaced the sensors with no luck, but the cranking sounded more powerful. Tested the wiring and it looks fine, but the battery is dying from me cranking all the time. Not sure what Im going to check next, the starter sounds like it is failing, but since its still cranking I think its good... Will just check every wire for continuity if I don't get the charger today.

Someone with questionable car knowledge pointed out that the top of my airfilter is getting dirtier than the bottom, and since I am out of things to check Im figuring this could be due to an air leak somewhere? I will post another thread with photos... I will check hoses today, which is good since my battery is dying

Did you check the cam position sensor?

Sure did, replaced it too and checked the wires for continuity with the multimeter. I was getting a code for the camshaft sensor for some reason though after the car stopped starting, but I tested it and it was fine. Replaced it anyway though

The engine was flooded from me trying to start it too much so I drained the oil pan and am letting the gas evaporate now
The starter is sounding weak as hell, but battery is also dead, so hopefully a jump, fresh oil, and the new sensors will have it running.

checked the hoses they look good, don't have any other way of testing but I followed the hoses and felt/ looked for cracks.

Very confident this car will be running as soon as I get a jump starter.

Would gas in the oil filter clog the thing? Guess Ill find out they aren't too expensive either I guess.

If this works do you have any idea why these sensors keep failing, and they aren't even failing the car just randomly stops starting. Other times I've basically unplugged and plugged it back in and it was going again.

Its getting dark and I don't feel like pulling out the jack, but the wire connecting the crankshaft position sensor on the passenger side is looking really rough. I cleaned it out but the metal connection is slightly bent, the continuity and voltage tests fine, but I've got a little electronics experience and sometimes cables out of place screw things up even if the numbers check out... Ill post another thread tomorrow but if you know the name of the wire connector let me know I could not find a replacement part online.

Its a metal prong sticking out of a rotating metal housing that is the male for the female crankshaft position sensor wire. If you know the name of the housing or a guide for replacement post it.

Ive been sick as hell since monday (made out with a random broad on new years probably gave me the flu or covid (yes this is a humble brag)) but now Im looking into the anti-theft system malfunctioning. I am reading that could cause a crank no start any idea how to fix this?
I tried all the ignition key turning reset tricks with no avail, but the cranking is sounding more powerful if that makes any sense. Like its one good spark away from starting, and I have tested all the wiring and hoses so it really should start which is why I think it is the anti-theft

any ideas at all would help

Ill take pics of the crankshaft housing tomorrow but im feeling like **** and dont want to kill myself today.

I was having trouble starting my car and replacing the ignition switch fixed it all. It's not terribly expensive, and it's quick to install, so it may be worth a shot if you're still having trouble.

Something to ponder, todays aftermarket non oem sensors are know to fail brand new out of the box which can cause you to chase your tail diagnostically which i went through 1st hand.

Also,a dirty (can try cleaning in 5 mins with spray MAF sensor cleaner) or soon to fail MAF sensor can cause no or hard starting along with rough idle when the motor does finally start too.

Happy Motoring!
