Hey. Changing out the tranny input shaft bearing (closest to the engine) on my Max. One problem, the original bearing and my replacement bearing do not match exactly.
The new bearing has a snap ring on the outer race to keep it from going all the way into its slot (maintaining proper clearance?) in the transmission case. The old bearing did not have this ring.
So I'm just wondering if I should remove the ring or leave it? See pics below
