OOOOOPS, I did it AGAIN! I think (NATS)

New TPS and just about everything else on the top refresh.
Adjusted the TPS and read if you turn the key on without starting the car for 5 seconds and then off and repeat 19 more times, it sets the ECU to the adjustment.

I have a 99 with NATS, so I made sure the door was closed. Won't start and that SOLID RED devil's cyclops eye is staring right at me!

Never read the hood had to be closed as well!

Anybody know for sure?

Thanks!

Freakin POS!

What would happen if I disconnected the battery for a few days? Would the NATS clear itself?

It's not supposed to clear itself like you described. But you have nothing to lose in trying.

Unfortunately NO! Last time NATS got triggered was unexplainable. Wife drove it home and next start didn't happen. Same key both times. Deaaler got the car and reset the ECU. Made a key and copied the ols used one and it wouldn't work so he got angry with me. He should have used the VIN database instead of the worn key but too lazy. Can I just buy a new master key programmed at the dealer? (different dealer)

A second Master key was just a day or two away because I was going to bring it to the dealer for a State Inspection, Oil Change and need a key. And ask to look over the work I did replacing so much. Still can't get the Idle below 700 to 737. Maybe that's fixed after setting the TPS changes that also triggered the NATS?

Too bad gas is so high. I have fire and theft and if it somehow lit on fire I could be free! LOL

Anybody here ever use Nissan Datascan I software on a Laptop via a Consult I to Usb cable and appropriate drivers?

Ive used NDS2, made by the same people, and I have nothing but great things to say about it. Worth every penny. Cant imagine NDS1 is any less worthwhile.

Used NDS2 for my 02’ maxima, mainly for data logging but tons of other nifty features (including key programming). I think NDS1 has the same features, i know theres also NDS3 - the differences are how the program communicates with the OBD2 port, different model years have different protocols and whatnot. For 4th gens i think you need NDS1

Thank you SR! I should have bought this years ago. Now I'm considering a used laptop that was well taken care of and the software and appropriate Consult I to USB cable (and drivers) More than I wanted to spend on this though. Another OUCH! LOL

Lots of GREAT features that would remove so much guess work when tuning.

Hey...If you're a Genesis fan, A Tribute Band AFTERGLOW is playing at 89 North Sat, May 28th. My friend plays keys! We'll be there.

Y'all be cool now!

Still worth the investment! For me, the data logger is what has seen the most use, I basically ran it every time I took the car out to keep tabs on what my Romraider tunes were producing. If you dont plan on datalogging you could probably find some ridiculously long cable and run it to your desktop computer inside.

Probably wont be able to make it to that show unfortunately, unless my plans for that night flake out. I guess we will see lol, i knew you were on the island but didnt realize you were that close by. Im definitely trying to hit up Great South Bay Fest in July though, that saturday’s lineup looks pretty killer.

USB has a limit of 15 feet for a cable. LOL...

What the hell... I'll just drag my whole PC out there and set the monitor in front of the windshield on the hood! Now that I'm thinking about this, I just might! Gotta find a Consult I to USB cable quickly! Towing is going to cost a bit more than getting the software, cable a d drivers! And then I have it forever and especially NEXT time. Maybe get the engine running PRIME based on real info!

I'm North Shore Central Nassau! So 89 North is 40 to 45 minutes away no traffic. I have to look at the GSB Fest and see who's playing! Oyster Bay is having the Glen Fest June 4th (The Homestead). I have friends in a Marshall Tucker Tribute playing and an Allman Brothers Tribute bands both playing! I'm from the days when MTB and the Allmans were big. The Good Old DAYS!

As a last resort, pickup AAA membership. It's cheap. You get like 5 free tows a year. Basic plan gives you like 7 miles free. Plus plan is like 50 or 100 miles.

Thanks Wiz! That's a good idea. We have Geico and it includes hook up and towing for 5 miles or so and the trip is 11 miles to the better dealer! Not sure what the rate is per mile over what is allotted. Used to be $10 per. So the other option is a no brainer.

I ordered the Consult I to USB Cable today ($30). Should be here by Monday, Then I'll buy the Nissan Datascan I software ($36 USD) and download it and get right to work wiping and reprogramming my key. Then tweak the tuning! And have it for anymore NEXT Times! LOL

So what If I have to lug out my PC to the hood of the car? I should have done this LONG ago!

I hope the Nissan Datascan software works out for you. Although it's worked for others, I'm anxious to hear your results!

Care to share a link to what Consult I to USB cable you bought?

I was told by a Nissan Master Tech that you can clear everything out by disconnecting both battery cables and then connecting the cables together for 10 to 15 seconds. Could be worth a try in your case.

I bought this one because it's in the USA already and ships from NJ to Long Island. Probably 50 miles. But there are others that ship from China that are slightly cheaper on eBay. The one that has Nissan 14 stamped on it is the same a US distributor sells for $50 and it ships from China. That distributor is also authorized to bundle it with the Nissan Datascan I software. But they're out of stock and don't return emails. So the one from China is the way to go That might not be bad for those on the West Coast? But let me be the test RAT first! LOL

Times is hard and getting harder! Don't want you to waste any money unless there's solid upside returns. https://www.ebay.com/itm/20393373629...oAAOSwLMJicN5D
