Advanced Timing

Is there anyway we 4th gen can have advanced timing like 3rd gen, because that would definitely help us N/A. thanx

on the third gen....they can just turn something and it works. i heard that you can do the same thing to fourth gen too..but you have to do some filing.

I have heard that you can advance the timing on the 300ZX-TT by adjusting the cam timing sensor. This might be what the 3rd gen guys are doing. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that you can do that with a 4th gen.

The ignition timing on all VQ-series engines is not adjustable via any sensor adjustments. The only way to adjust the timing is via a reprogrammed ECU (like JWT or GForce).

Others have tried unsuccessfully to adjust the timing via modifications to the crank position sensor. Bottom line is it cannot be done.

Unfortunantly also you can only get a JWT ECU for a 95 and 96. So if your above that your out of luck. Actually though some 97's have tried it and it works so so.
