What does the click do when you spin the thumb wheel on the dimmer?
Hi Guys. On my 98 Maxima the lights get brighter when turning the thumb wheel to the Maximum level and then it stops. If you turn it just a little more it clicks and stays in that position. I don't see any difference when it clicks. Thanks in advance for the help.
On dimmer switches if you scroll all the way up then do the click, the click should keep the roof dome light, door lights, etc all on. Be careful because most vehicles even with the key out of the ignition doing the click on the dimmer will leave your lights on still and kill your battery if you dont unclick it

What Sutter said but the “click” simply locks/secures the dimmer in the bright setting.
The switch is prone to random adjustment with a swipe, a bump or a rub if not “clicked” into position.
