99 MAXIMA 5speed swap car cranks will not start please help !!
Ok guys so I haven’t been on this forum site since 2016 when I had my first 4th gen also 5 speed swapped as well among other things but that’s another story I just last year or two bought myself a 99 maxima 60,000 and some change original miles I finally last week got around to getting the 5 speed swap after getting parts together for about a year I got a brand new lsd trans FROM NISSAN new clutch resurfaced flywheel blah blah blah the car is all together and I went to start it just cranks and cranks now I know it’s a 99 and I know about the NATS issue I just had a guy come and reprogram they key it did have the solid security light I also got a new battery ran a ground cable from the negative to the bellhousing still nothing crank is very strong….before the locksmith left he said he could check the check engine light codes it had a check engine light before the swap as well …..the two codes I’m getting he told me was air temp sensor and crankshaft sensor I have both of them plugged in I even took the crank sensor and scuffed it up some with emery cloth to clean the little magnet piece of it I also have the temp sensor not in the actual air housing box cause I have a JWT POP CHARGER it doesn’t have a port for it so I have it sitting next to it. My question is WHY THE **** ISNT IT STARTING LOL please help anything would be of great help it’s been awhile since I came here for some advice from the maxima family please and thank you 🙏🏻 I really wanna drive my car it’s been five long years without my maxima and without driving stick I wanna enjoy my summer lmao
yea I found out why like an hour I can’t believe I didn’t notice this in the first place feel dumb as hell who ever sent me the flywheel (used obviously) the timing ring is missing I took the crankshaft pos sensor out and took a flashlight as well as my fingers and no timing ring is there whatsoever so I have to find a flywheel assembly and drop the trans again least I finally found out why like I said I feel stupid but I guess it’s a honest mistake why I didn’t notice in the first place cause I’ve never taken apart a flywheel and didn’t do that on my first swap so I didn’t think to even check but sheesh lol
