97 SE Strut and spring replacement

I'm looking to do a complete overhaul / maintenance of my suspension and steering on my daily. I don't want to change the stance or rake but my OEM struts are blown; the car bounces and the rear is unstable AF if I get to crazy with some occasional fun driving. I know I would have to transfer my springs over because the SE's have stiffer shocks and different coil rates. How different are the non SE shocks in terms of coil rate and shock dampen? I was thinking of getting KYB AGS (rear 741039) and (front 734018/ 734017) but the fronts are sold out and disco everywhere so my other option looks like regular KYB 341202s and 334150/51s. I'm open to coil overs but I also wanna have a softer daily-able ride and not spend 2k. The only other thing I have to do is figure out why my cruise wont actually set when it lights up green on the toggle but pressing the buttons on the wheel don't do anything. my car is a 5 spd car btw

I used Koni STR-T Orange Struts front and back.

After years of problems and LOTS of noise with KYB, Monroe and Moog iterations of Strut replacements and assemblies. AND also use all OEM consumables as everything other just didn't cut it. And definitely use the OEM SE Strut Mounts. The only thing that wasn't OEM other than the Struts was the Heavy Walled Heat Shrink Tubing I used on each end of the springs as insulators. Nice and QUIET!

My struts and all the parts cost over $900 doing everything myself.

Best money I ever spent on it to bring it back to what it was like when new.

Keith,

Elaborate a little, if you will, on the heat-shrink coil insulators.

Mostly, brand and where to purchase.

I’ve been running the wrap-around coily stuff and I’m not sure I’m happy with it.

Gotta get started on a front suspension re-do pretty soon anyway, so I figure …

Back in 2017 I ordered DSG-CANUSA CFW 0750 Heavy Walled Heat Shrink Tubing (48" Lengths) on Amazon. Somewhere around $12 or so a 48" piece.

Now Amazon doesn't carry it. Search on Google for suppliers that will sell these lengths and ship as reasonable as possible. Usually Electrical Supply businesses.

DSG-CANUSA'S part number is: 1410750BK0048 Maybe a Big Electrical Supply house near you can order it in for you. Waytek has it @ $15.30 each plus shipping.

Hope this helps!
