A/T Delay

I always thought it was normal for there to be a delay when you floor the car when its already moving. I thought this was the tranny reacting to extra gas and then deciding to downshift. Now I'm reading that it can mean the tranny is slipping. For instance, if I'm going 30 and floor the car, the rpms will rise a little and then the car will downshift and then the car starts pulling. It's never taken more than a second. Also, could cold weather be a cause of this because I've only noticed this in cold weather and it happens once in a while so I'm thinking maybe the tranny wasn't fully warmed up. I just got the tranny fluid flushed a few days ago and the mechanic said the car was fine but I noticed it after. The rpms never rise when upshifting. I'm gonna go drive the car for a while so I know its fully warmed up and see if there is a delay.

Its normal. When your tranny is slipping you will try and accelerate, the RPMs will rise a few thousand and then it will jerk hard into gear. What you are describing is the normal downshifting of the automagics under WOT. The only way to fix it is to get Don's VB upgrade.

It is normal, the one person that everyone was saying his tranny was slipping would try to accelerate from a stop and his rpm's would go up to about 3500 before he started going anywhere. Yours however is normal. Take Care
