Are these fog lights OEM? If so, how are you going to cut the holes in the bumper?

Thanks

i got a box cutter...i just cut the holes in my mask, they got good instructions, use masking tape so u don't scratch outer surface and stuff...my problem is:

Instructions say that wiring is made so i can't use fog lights when using high beam, they automatically shut off...is there a way to wire it so they are ALWAYS on when low beams and high beams are on?

I did a search wit "installing fog lights" and got nothing of that sort...just info on right pieces to get...i'm going to start installing and maybe after 10 min, i'll come back to see if any of u have a way to solve this...if not, i'll just keep it the way stock intended it 2 be

PLese tell me these aren't factory fog lights. I had to order a new fog light assembly for my 95 and it was $115.00 for the housing and lens only. SOrry to hear about your mask problems. Good luck.

man i suck...it took me forever just to put the fog lamps in the holes! That's like the hardest part...it's too dark so i won't change the trafficator thingy (lol) tomorrow...never opened the steering wheel before so i know it's going to take a while to do...

ALSO, when looking at the instructions for making the fog lamps run even when using high beam, i opened my hood and saw two cooling things next to the fuse box...which one were; they talking about? there's one on top and there's something on right...i have no idea which one it is and i don't know where the two bolts are that i have to unscrew...can someone tell me which one and get me some picture instructions? I know i won't be able to do this wit just wording....i never changed my oil before...i think this would be a great accomplishment for me if i get all this done....last great accomplishment was the diamond cut bumpers but how easy is that?

i rewired my stock fogs to go on with the car off and with high beams

it was very very easy, theres one wire at the fog-relay (yellow/green) not too sure though. I jumped that to a 12volt constant and presto "rewired fogs" even using the stock switch

ny96max, did u do exactly what those instructions said? Also, they asking for a lot of equipment...i don't have all that stuff

I don't have that black string thing
that red thing
and those three small untesils at the bottom right

all i have is that silver thing at the bottom middle
and electrical tape....would that be ok? oh and screw driver..lol

Instructions are much better but still gonna take some time for me....

OH, he doesn't say anything about working with high beams...just parking brakes

AND WHAT DOES THAT MEAN???? WHEN THEY SAY WORKS WIT PARKING BRAKES, WHEN IS THE PARKING BRAKE ON? when u pick the parking brake up? i don't understand...i see this all the time but i have no idea what it is

I suggest to get them installed first, before you can rewire them.

this dude named Robert. Stealth Maxima told me about him

email his secratary Susan at nissanparts@bellsouth.net

she's real cool...she actually emailed me first when she heard i needed fog lights

she says their dealership sells them cheap cause they are located in a bad place that doesn't sell much...somewhere in LA, tell her i told u about her if u actually go for it...

Also, i'll do that first...install then do the rewiring....

Whoa! Chill out there, skippy.

They mean PARKING LIGHTS. parking lights are when you turn on your side lights but not your headlights.

We talked about this about a week ago over Messenger...remember? i was telling you how I use my fogs as daytime running lights because i can turn them on independant of the headlights? That's because when i installed my fogs, I did the rewire.

After the rewire, you will be able to turn your fogs on with your parking lights, headlights, and high beams.

Installing the stalk in the steering column is a piece of cake. Open the steering column, remove the two screws holding the stalk in, pull gently, undo all the harnesses, put the new stalk in, re-install screws, reinstall steering column...done.

It will be good practice for installing your Indiglos to take apart the steering column anyway.

Good luck!

I timed myself

took me 8 minutes (with a cordless screwdriver) for the steering column.

45 minutes for both foglights, 30 minutes to do the rewire.
ebmorgan actually did the rewire and the fogs. He'd done his car the week before so he was good at it.

As far as the lights, it has nothing to do with your blinkers (on the lower bumper). it has to do with your PARKING LIGHTS (other light on the lower bumper, and the lights just to the outside of the headlights)

You cannot make them flash by themselves.

8 minutes? cool, so i give myself 2 hours..lol

from cutting the holes to putting the fog lamps in, it took me 3 hours!!

aligning them in the holes was so hard...took me a minute

so, the instructions on the first page, are those the actual instructions u used? and it took u a half hour to do that?! dam, so it's gonna take me a good minute....

Well, I was draining my ATF Fluid and Changing the brakes at the same time...

Sort of going inbeetween.

It hsouldn't be hard for you to do the rewire. Just follow the directions.

But the wiretap at Radio Shack that it talks about....it's important.

No offense, mecca, but if you want to be knowledgable about your car, you should probably know how it works by taking things apart and putting them back together yourself.

It really isn't hard.

Wow, I wish I saw this thread before I got my fog lights, I paid 175$ shipped I believe. All hardware included, new turn signal stalk and all. Took me around 40 minutes to an hour to put them in with my dad helping me out a little bit, it's very simple, and straight forward. BTW, Ian, your car is freaking tight looking, the more i look at that sig pic, the more I regret passing up a white 97 GXE with a sunroof and grey interior which sold right before I bought my car for about 500$ then I wanted to spend.

I just got my fogs and sent a postal MO. It worked out fine. Wouldn't you know that it has been raining since I got them. I at least got the TS switch installed and hoping for good weather this weekend. I asked for and got a UPS tracking # and got the fogs in 2 days.

do the stereo yourself.. its not worth paying a penny to get it done... it should be easier than the fogs... but that did have difficulty, so maybe not..
