I lost, yes. I accept that. And I'm not making up excuses, however, I will point out that I had another person in my car and my hood was open a little causing wind resistance. Maybe I would have won if I was by myself and my hood was closed all the way... but I'll never know now.

Maximas will get beaten because.. we only THINK we are fast.. when in reality we could get smoked by most 4-banger 5spds

The accord will wipe the floor with you.

Maybe you just THINK that because you are slower that you sister's stock Maxima.

just wondering, how much do you think the max and the accord weigh, respectively? Does your friend's dad drive around with concrete blocks in his trunk? There's no way a stock Accord is 1000 pounds heavier than the Maxima..

I agree - it's more like 500lbs to 700lbs heavier.

2001 accord v6 coupe - 3283 lbs.

2001 accord v6 sedan - 3329 lbs.

they're 200hp, 195 lb/ft torque..

I've heard they can keep up with an automatic 4th gen maxima.. If so, that VTEC really makes up for the extra 300 or so pounds over the maxima..

You'll have the advantage for a while because of our torque and wider band. However, as the race goes on that advantage will become much smaller (stupid vtec).

I have a 1995 GLE, and I raced my friends 2001 accord V6 a couple times. The main race was from 0-about 90, and it was pretty much dead even. I was stock back then, and so was he. i'm sure with brake torqing and my intake, i could pull about a car or two on him.
