what kinda intake?

I"m going to get an intake soon. What goes good with a y-pipe? Which company is the best? Stilln, JIm wolf, etc. etc. Or shall I get a cold air intake?? People who have intakes, tell me how you like it and what you suggest. Thanks.

Re: what kinda intake?

suggest read the faq here in the .org or maximadriver.com and do a search, most likely people don't want to answer your questions.

If you don't mind drilling a hole in your fender, definetely get a CAI. People say it sounds better and gives more low end power.

If you're like me and don't want a 3 inch hole in your car when it comes time to sell, get a JWT intake (don't bother with Stillen, you pay 100 bucks more for just the Stillen name engraved on the intake). The POP style intake might make you lose low end power, but you'll gain more up top, and it sounds nice too.

get the cai.......makes your engine compartment look much cleaner also...the hole really shouldnt matter when u try to sell your car(if u try to sell it), for Y pipes - get warpspeed...........240 shipped.........btw - if you dont want to cut a hole in your car, get a K&N cone filter intake from www.procarparts.com -its the exact same thing as JWT pop except that you save like 100 bucks =)

I have a jim wolf and it sounds nice I just want a CAI now because I hear it does sound a little better, louder, and it does give you more low end HP.

buy a cold air intake from cattman and decide on what u wanna do sicne its both intakes for the price of 1, i have been able to use a hybrid(best setup in my opinion), and a cai and can distinguish that i like the hybrid better in a 5 speed. i duno how much differece there is without the y pipe cuz intakes give you a handful of horsepower, but after y pipe every aspect is prominent, the cold air provides great pull to about 4 then sorta just goes to sleep, the hybrid intake feels stock to about 3k then bam, the tach wants to go past the redline while the cold air begs you to shift. i say hybrid for sticks cold air for autos, cuz us 5 speeds can just launch above the "lag point" if we rilly find it necessary.

Yeah, the new filters by JWT are nice.

Check this link out if you want to weigh some more options between CAI and Pop.

HA! I emailed Cattman about that design a while ago, and he said it was good but caused too much intake turbulance! Guess JWT finally realized what was up!

You can get those on ebay for 19.99 - 40.00 Don't waste any more than $60 on a popcharger.

Get CAI if your a man, get POP if your a wuss.

I'm a college student so dun have lot of money to go with the CAI. And here is the question, does the POP make your low-end worse than stock? or is it still the same as stock?

BTW, i have a 97 auto. thanks

pop isnt for wusses-
itll bring air in and thats what you want. if you want a little more low end than that will give you get a cai, cold air is good of course.
on my 5 speed i didnt notice any drop in low end at all with the pop charger. i love it
