Re: 2002 Maxima cop

it is cool what some state cops and undercover cops drive these days. on my way to florida, i saw a camaro ss state trooper. this was in one of the carolina's. also, i heard that up in new york, some of the state troopers are driving supped up vette's. i wouldn't be surprised to see a new max at all.

In IL on a highway, you can spot a cop in a Camero SS and a Mustang GT.

I agree. I've never seen an import cop car and it probably won't happen.

probably not state troopers but im sure some small counties out there or some small sheriff's office have unorthodox patrol cars.

It's Camaro, not Camero btw. Indiana has cops driving LS1 Camaros and Trans Ams. They all have tinted windows, so if you see a tinted LS1, don't do anything stupid.

someone has that as their sig picture. i think it may have just been for fun. but remember the thread a few months ago about this? BMW gave South Carolina some M5s to use as cop cars only a few years ago. so i guess there could be 1 viper cop out there.

They use Saabs in Vail, Colorado and Range Rovers in Breckenridge. I have seen alot of Chevy Z71s up in the mountians here too. It sucks because the Chevys don't have lights up top. THey are way too easy to miss.

Yep here in Texas.. I see allot of Z28's.
I know I got pulled over by one on I-10 going about 95mph coming from El Paso in my old 1996 Accord. He was heading South and I was headin North and he busted a U-turn in the median... which I wish he got stuck,, but nope.. I had about 1/2 run from him and was thinking about out runnin the man... but I had the family with me... so I played it safe.

I live in Carrollton TX (suburb of of Dallas), we have one 56 chevy cop, and right down the street in Farmers Branch there is a pair of vette cops. All kinds of new stuff is popping up around here.

for NY state troopers i believe you need to undergo special vehicle training to drive them....

In other news ... Ford plans to put a v10 in the crownvic... 0-60 is still not going to break 6's. You know you can buy police spec crown vics from dealerships ... www.crownvic.org

i live in las vegas and along with crownvics and the new impalas, explorers and silverados are popular in nevada along with the Z28's..i was busted by a Z28 doing 105 in my maxima...he said if he took everyone to jail for going that fast he'd be running back and forth to the jail all day..lol..but anyways im originally from GA and the state troopers there have BMW's, i believe the 325i's..they looked sharp..they were marked too.

I've never seen a maxima undercover, but I saw one painted up as a cabby the other day in Northern Virginia. The act of putting the maxima alongside the gm cruisers is quite comforting in the area of longevity
