Best Intake

Which is the best intake for the our cars. I was looking at a place racing one and it seemed to be the best. Does anyone have any other opinions?

You want low end or high end?

Or ... get a popcharger (cone intake) and put the upper piece of the CAI on it. Hybrid.

newbie question

Does anyone just sell the upper part of a CAI to make a hybrid, or do you have to buy the whole CAI and only use part of it?

You can buy solely the upper portion of the intake from WarpSpeed Performance. Somewhere around $100 as opposed to the $160+ of the full CAI (Cold Air Intake).

I'm not usually one to say 'use the search' but good grief, this has to be one of the most F.A.Q.

Anyway, to answer your question: A SUPERCHARGER!

Low end is for grandma...

High end is where it's at.

But, one main contributor to loosing low end is the HOT air with the Cone. So, just make sure some cold air gets to it.

or do something similar...

Good idea, I'll add it to the FAQ sometime this week.

Yeah between that and search instead of 100 people asking we will only get about 98 or 99.

What is so good about the pop charger and what determines if you get low or high end power?

Where do I purchase the PR CAI upper tubing for a '99 maxima/i30.

At WarpSpeed Performance it only lists the tubing for the:
  • VG 1989-94
  • VE 1992-94
  • VQ 1995-96
  • VQ 1997-98
Will the VQ 1997-98 work on my model?

BTW, how is the installation? Do I just remove the old tube/resonator and bolt the CAI upper tube on? Will I have to remove other stuff to be able to effectively access/remove it?

Thanks.
