? about stock air intake
Hi.
The stock air intake currently has a "scoop" of sorts screwed into the front of the engine compartment, and bends downward into a fork of sorts...
Question --> The fork splits into two directions -- one goes into the stock air filter box, the other goes into a box(?) under the battery.
So, what is this box under the battery? If I block up that box, will more air rush into the air filter? What if I remove that box, will air get sucked in thru the tube that connected to that box, and if so, will that add to my air flow?
Thanks!

I removed that whole scoop piece one day when working under my car for some extra clearence. I have noticed nothing different from when it was there and when it wasnt. I dont know if plugging it up will matter but there was nothing there for me as far as gains go.

i removed that box under the battery and duct taped the port, so now it only sucks air from the front scoop. i noticed a slight increase in noise and faster rev. i also removed the small resonator and the crank case vent hose. I think its better. im working on a improved version.

i think it's just a resonator.
