last night i took my car to the track for the first time ever. i have never raced any of my previous cars neither. i have a 97 SE auto and only performance i have his an intake. i have 17 inch ROH wheels. i was getting awesome launches with 2.2-2.3 60ft times.(correct me if im wrong but isnt that good for an auto?)anway towards about 70mph i notice every car that i am beating or close with starts to pull and i finish with about a 16.1 on average.(best was a 16.00) what do the stock maxs run? i thought they ran 15.7 stock. could my rims possibly slow my car that much? i had a half of tank of gas and 32psi front tire pressure. Also on the way to the track my friend in his spec v races me from 80-120 on the freeway and i slowly was pulling on him. he ran a 15.4.WTF!!!! any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

 

Were you trying to manually shift gears or anything? Did you take overdrive off or leave it on?

well i torque braked it off the line and i tried manually shifting and then just keeping it in drive with o'd off.
