It's pure ebay BS. What is says is: "This kit will tap into your computers wiring harness at a certain sensor under the hood and make the computer think that colder air is coming in that what is really coming in thus advancing the timing and producing more power."

If for some reason you want to "trick" your car into thinking it's sucking colder air than it actually is all you have to do is change the resistance of the ambient air temperature sensor. This has no gains, and can actually hinder performance by making your can run rich.

Advancing timing is an old trick, and a free one at that. Advancing base timing is effective on cars that were designed for low grades gas, but I'm pretty sure the Maxima wasn't designed to run ok on 85 octane.

If advancing timing obviously it will run hotter so have to upgrade gas, this will move the power band down in the RPMs, and increase mileage. Monetary wise it will come out about even every time, i.e. if buying 87 and getting 15 city vs. buying 93 and getting say 19 city, but the advantage would be extra power on tap with the premium.

But either way, not going to be effective on a Maxima.

All that, and the air temp sensor is only used as a refernce by the ECU in the Maxima. Messing with it will not get you any horsepower.
