Power steering noise - help(?)
Power steering noise - help(?)
Hey all,
Just started getting an odd noise related to my steering the other day.
Basically, it happens when I'm at a stand-still with the engine running. When I "rock" the steering wheel from left to right, 1/8 turn, there's a "clicking" noise when I turn the wheel each way. It's not a tie-rod end type noise though - I know that much. It seems to be coming from the engine bay; beneath the intake manifold somewhere. I know it's not a front strut bearing (they were just replaced).
It's weird: almost sounds like an actuator or relay clicking type noise: one click for every rock of the wheel in each direction. Hard to describe, but I hope that helps. Anyone ever experience this? Know what it is? I checked my Haynes manual, but it didn't give me much to go on.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

check the fluid level for the power steering.... if low add AUTOMATIC TRANSMISION FLUID, the container that holds the fluid is above the windshield wiper fluid, its round and looks like it has black fluid

Unless I get some news on this, I guess I'll just learn to live with it. Thanks!
(Any further insights still much appreciated)
