Any Draw Backs To Y-pipe
i am going to order a y-pipe from warpspeed performance but i was wondering if there are any drawbacks to a y-pipe. all you hear about is good things, is there nothing wrong with them? also i live in AZ and i am wondering if i should get the stainless steel or the aluminized? cost isnt really a factor i just want the best possible product for the money.

You will love you Ypipe once you get it installed.

I put my Cattman pipe on myself...the only problem with it was that he has been unknowingly using defective flex sections for the last year and a half...and now he has to fix a bunch of pipes under warrenty....

A Y-pipe will add more noise. The stock y-pipe has thicker gauge metal and precats which deaden a lot of noise exhaust noise (just not muffler noise) Y-pipes, depending on make, will introduce some vibration into the car. This vibration is very very minimal with the Warpspeed and slightly more on the Stillen. I've owned both so I know I hear the Cattman can vibrate pretty badly. Why do the Y-pipes cause vibration? Because of the shorter flex sections vs stock flex section. The shorter the flex section, the more the vibration.

I have the Cattman SS Ypipe. I would say the drawback is that the car sounds little less refined than with the stock pipe. Idle sounds much coarser and of course, your engine emissions are unlikely to be within legal limits at idle speed due to lack of precats.

Don't worry about power loss with keeping your stock exhaust, maybe 2-5 hp MAX...sometimes less.

RT CAT improves flow, not so much emissions. The stock cat is probably best for emissions.

Although, one word of caution with the pipe you got from the group deal: A few pipes from that batch were welded incorrectly (the buttweld on the Y is about 1/4 inch off) so your pipe might be defective. Mine was and it was a hassle to install, un-install send it back then re-install it. Cattman will pay for the shipping to and from, but won't cover the cost of installing/un-installing.
I'm sure yours is fine though because alot of them were fabricated correctly...but just wanted to let you know.
