OK well im sitting there cleaning my interior and after i get done i get in the driver seat and start up the car, and guess what the air bag might starts flashing. And im great i have had the car for 3 weeks and it’s starting to fall apart. Luckily i remembered the search function on here so i do the search and come to find out that on side air bag equipped cars the wiring harness on the side air bags is on the short side, so if you move the seats around they may get disconnected.

So im assuming that this is what happened, since i had moved the seats to clean them. I reset the air bags and the light went away, but i still want to get this fixed.

My question is do i have to wait till the light comes on again to bring it to the dealer or can i bring it without the air bag light being on? (air bags are covered by the power train warranty and this problem was a TSB, so they should fix it for free anyway)

 

Wait till the light comes back on. If you cleared the codes the dealer won't be able to find anything.
