Alteezas

I know this is a touchy subject for that many members don't like these lights, but a question for the people who have them installed on their cars...anybody have problems from other cars seeing you signaling when turning? I have these lights installed on my car and I have been told that people have a hard time noticing my signal, especially when the parking lights and brake lights are on at the same time! It seems that these particular lights share the turn signal lamp and brake lamp all in one unit. I believe these lights should have been manufactured with a "seperator" inside the housing to seperate the two (like the stock ones). This way the turn signal lamp will illuminate brighter without fighting with the brake light. What do you guys think? Any suggestions, or did anybody do any mods on correcting this particular problem? I was thinking of swapping the inner brake lamp for the turn signal lamp, so that only the outer lamp is for braking and the inner lamp for signaling and reverse. But, I believe this is illegal for that turn signaling on the rear of vehicles must be somewhere on the outside corners. Right? What do you guys think?

I should say I don't like Altezzas and I don't have them installed on my car, but I have seen a few Maxima's with them and I can say that it can be hard to see their turn signals. But no harder than a lot of American cars that share a turn signal and brake light.

I have Eurolite 1157 LED's as my brake/park lights and regular 1156 bulbs as my turn signals they are an obvious difference in color and brightness...

I agree, i have them installed and that has been my major problem. Having people notice me signal. It is not too bad when you just have on the parking lights, but when you hit the brakes you can barely see them flash. I am going to try and wire the two little lights at the outermost corner to flash when I signal. That's the only solution i see.

Are you talking about the side marker light in the corner? If so, these lights aren't really bright for that they are only a 4 watt 194 bulb. I wonder if there is a way where we can make the brake light lamps flash for the turn signal. (As if it was all one lamp--brake, parking lights, and turn signal).

this worked for me.....try putting blue (yes blue) colored lights for your brakes/parking I.E. 1157......then put some high wattage bulb in for your 1156s......the blue bulb is not bright to begin with so it will dimly light the bottom but will still be visible.. when you turn on your signal its light output will be unrivaled by that of the blue bulb.

Because your tails are now illegal until you install a red side marker on your rear 1/4 panel that is wired in with the brake lights.

Chiltons manual or Haynes manual, you do have a manual correct? It is required before you register. You did read the rules right? And all the stickies. If not take seat belt, wrap around neck, and pull tight.

I got a question about the gen 2 altezzas. I got a 96 max so these won't fit. As of now I know they make them for 97-99 models but not 95-96. Has anyone heard of these coming out for 95-96's?

I've never heard of that happening. Just get a '97-'99 trunk lid so you can get gen II's.

I called Stillen and they said they don't exist. I even called the place Stillen gets their parts from and they also said they have never heard of them.

I have followed a maxima with Gen I Altezzas and I couldn't even tell he was signalling....a major minus for these tails in addition to their hideous looks. Gen II's look sexy on maxes though, totally different look. But my number one choice is my red/clear.

First of all this is not directly related just at you.. but it was the last straw. Yes those of us that are newer to this site will learn one day. THANK YOU captain obvious!! Wasn't everyone on here new at one time??...."Nooby" it sounds to me that anyone that has to use that has some self issues. I saw where a guy with 50 some odd posts was calling someone with 30 some odd posts a "noobie". Is it some kind of special club you have to join. do you have to call someone a noobie at least once to get in to it?? You knowEVERYONE needs to give true constructive critisim instead of just calling names.
I feel a little better now. Now having said that I like this site I try to use the info I get on here and I try to give a little when I can. There is no name calling needed just because someone has less posts than you

If you will READ it's not the critisim it's the way it was done...........DUDE. And it was not a personal attack on you. it was an attack on the way the term NEWBIE it used. I think it is a used as a put down and needs to be stopped. If people were a little more understanding a helpful rather than just posting...That a newbie for ya. thing would go alittle better don't you think.
