a "molded" kit etc. is made to look like it is part of the body of the car no seams, lines like it was made on the car from the factory really it is a nice cleaner look like shaving door handles antennas, keyholes, trunk locks,etc....

how is the molding process done? can you ask the auto store to have it done?

are you thinking about doing it ?If so to get the kit molded you would have to go to a body shop so they can put the molding between the kit and the car, sand and paint which would cost you a hefty amount and second of all you would have to be very careful not to hit against any curb because the molding will crack.
Here Is The Scoop
My car is completely shaved except for the gas tank door. No handles, no power antenna, no locks, no emblems. Kit is molded to the body with using reinforced fiberglass (believe me it is hard i have hit it on driveways before and no cracks at all). I owned a very lowered Integra GSR that was kitted before this, so I know I could do this to my MAx without fear of tearing it up. So if anyone is going to go ahead and mold the kit to the car you have to be sure you are a careful driver and don't let anyone drive your ride. It is Expensive job to do and to repair.

how much do the molding go for?
how much do the molding go for?
For example, getting my rear bumper touched up and repainted (after a few nicks over time, here and there) was quoted as being from $350 to $700. That is JUST the rear bumper. The quotes were from 3 different autobody shops.
The kit will run you nearly $1,000. The paint job on just the body kit would be at least $800, if not more. The custom work to mold the kit to the body, as Down Low had it done, would add at least another $1,000 to the price tag. With all of the shaving that Down Low had done to his car, I wouldn't be surprised if he had to have the whole car repainted. A professional paint job will easily cost you from $2,000 to $4,000.
So this kind of modification is not to be taken lightly. If you do it, you plan on keeping your car for the long haul because all of this work won't raise your resale value by much.

I dunno guys, IMO, Altezzas look like crap on almost all cars. On the 4th Gens they stick out and take away attention from the beautiful clean lines of the car. If you want to stand out from the rest of the maximas, CLear/Reds are the way to go.

I think the altezzas look fine on certain color maximas. I have the silver ones on my custom painted silver max. The lights blend right in and look factory instaed of standing out and taking attention away from the rest of the car. I did my homewaork on how the would look instaed of just running out and get them because they were something new for the max. I only did the outer edges though, i didn't do the trunk. To me it looks better that way.

Unfortunatly they do. I have a black max and I was considering getting them until I saw them in person. They dont look like the ones they show on the black max on custommaxima.com, which look completely black all around.

What did you use to replace your antenna? Does it get decent reception?
