Yeah, there was this one time when I raced this Jag-U-ar S-Type 4.0 in my Volvo 240, and by 100 I had like 10 car lengths!!!!!

Ok... obviously bs. The ol' volv would be behind at the starting line, but hey... a Jag is a great car in every possible way (except the general state of electrics in the older models...) too bad no one around here (South Shore, MA) will actually race me. Too much of a sleeper, i guess.. oh well, whats a volvo for, anyway

I raced a Jaguar s type 4.0 on the freeway, to things are slow. We went like from 30mph to 110mph and he was like 4 car lengths behind all of time.

Those Jags are some hot cars. But they are way too much $$$.
The Maxima is car to go with anyday. Besides I already have a 94

Amen...when I picked up my Jag the dealer took ten minutes making sure I knew how to say Jag-U-ar...ohh and Shed-ule (brittish accent) my car for service...

I can say that the S-Type is very very fast.

Rule when buying a Jag: buy two. One for the road, while the other is in the shop. Vice versa every two weeks.

I'm not even gonna get into their flamed...ahem...famed electrical system in the older models.

Only 1994 and older...the new ones are fancy fords and work fine. Nobody with newer Jags that I know have any problems...

With or without nitrous, with nitrous its really not fair. Without it would be a pretty good race but I think the Max might edge it out. However a stock vs stock the Jag would take it easily. I know my Benz will destroy my Max on or off the bottle.

Is your max a 5sp or auto? Is your Benz really that fast? I always thought that even the Kompressor model was terribly slow... (Just asking, not to start a war!)

Max is auto...

The Benz is much much faster then it is rated at...plus it has a fifth gear which would help beat my auto max. The Benz has very advanced driving system that adapts to the driver after about 20 mins or so...if you just grab the car after it has been driven conservatively it will shift at low rpms...if you "race" it, eventually it will automatically shift at higher rpm's...when the S/C is being used to it's full potential the car just keeps on pulling.
