power seats

does the button that moves the seat back and forth on the passenger side also make the seat part raise up and down like the driver side does .The reason being is i don't know if the passenger side button is stuck or if it just doesn't make the seat raise up and down like my side

No, it doesn't. On 4th gen Maxima's (at least, 96+) the driver side is 8-way and the passenger side is 4-way.

Yeah they added this feature in 96. . . Although my driver seat is supposed to be 8 way, it is technically 4 way as the gears that raise and lower the seat are stripped and while the seat will raise without any weight on it as soon as I sit down it returns to the lowest setting. I have learned to live with it though.

That sucks. I don't think I could live with mine on the lowest setting. Feels... weird.

I am pretty tall so it doesn't bother me as much as others. . . My sister, who is 5'0 can't drive it though, she has visibility issues.

Any way to add power to a non-powered seat?

Has anyone done this, or would you have to replace the whole seat? My passenger seat is all manual.

i think you have to replace the whole seat as the gear mech is missing same thing with a heated seat... i have a 95 and would love to get my hands on a 96 tan power passenger seat

no, because if you look at the drivers side there is an up/down arrow or something like it where on the passenger there is only back and forth, unless the arrows are worn off. Oh yeah, I'm only 5 foot, and I love the seat low, maybe thats why I suck at parking!
