Has anyone Atually installed one touch to there sunroof??

Cause I did over the weekend using the autolock express add on. I think it's a wx1000 or somthing. Anyways, theres a write up in the 4th gen FAQ about it. Well it's completely wrong. Looks like somone just got a hold of the directions but never installed it but decided to do a write up on it. Problem is the box is designed for window that are grounded and recieve pos through the switch however, are cars deliver neg through the switch so the box won't work when hooked up according to the directions. I had to change the polarity of the sunroof motor and do some other stuff to get it to work. That write up should be removed, it is misleading.

I wrote the original FAQ. I got the thing, just never put it in. The colors I had posted I thought would work after lookin at the FSM and the autoloc directions. I just never got around to it. I apologize for the bad directions. BTW, the other stuff I wrote about is all correct though.

Everything you wrote was correct. Your were dead on with the colors too. I'ts just that it doesnt say anywhere on the box, or when I called autoloc that it has to be a pos switching system. I figured I was doing somthing wrong or got a defective unit. EM me when your ready to install. There are alot of thing you need to know to get it to work.

Why did you rewire your sunroof motor??

this is a simple situation...

If it is a negative trigger, and your AUTOLOK is a pos, then use a relay to convert the trigger to negative by routing negative to ground and using the switch with positve trigger to switch the relay which switches ground..

Did that make sense?? LOL

Relay cost like next to noothing... Worked wonders for my old mazda, i had like 10 relays in taht thing for my alarm, cell phone, stereo, etc.. I LOVE RELAYS!!!

:o)

Jeff, I recently (I say recently but it's probably been 3 months!) purchased one WC1000 to test out. If I liked it, I would then buy more. I have just been too busy with the SC install write-up, work, school, and now finals. There it sits on my dresser. Anyway, I was probably going to start with the windows and later do the sunroof. So I thank you for starting this thread. When you get a chance, perhaps you can do a write-up for the sunroof? Also, I want to ask you, did you also do your windows? If so, is that straight forward? How do you like it? Is there a write-up for that? Did you hook it up to the alarm as well? Thanks.

I thought about using a relay(I would need two) the problem with that is the WC1000 uses breakers to open/close the windows. When the motor is at the end of it's travel, it is forced to stop thus creating a spike in the amps it pulls at which time the breaker in the WC1000 opens. If you use a relay, the WC1000 would hook up to the coil side and the window motor to the switch side so when the window motor reaches the end of it's travel and starts to pull a load it would not be detected by the WC1000. Instead, the relay would probably burn out if not the motor. I tired it ahundred diiferent ways. I even tried reversing the polarity of the WC1000 (at risk of destroying). Reversing the polarity of the actual sunroof motor is the only way I could see it working. However there are some drawbacks to making it auto(which I will mention in the right up).

I did not hook this up to my windows so I'm not sure if it's the same thing. I know Asian cars are notoriuos for using grounds as triggers though. I have just the factory alarm in my car(I just added a shock sensor to it) but I believe if you have these installed in all your windows and sunroof you can have them all open with your factory remote. And you could probably have all the windows roll up when you arm with the factory remote.

this is great info - looking forward to your write-up - been wanting to do the one-touch roof forever but don't know much (anything) about electronics...
