FILTER/Airbox Swap..

FILTER/Airbox Swap..
When i installed my fiter in replace of my airbox my check engine light went on. I dont know it because the sensor is not in the right place or what not. I did not buy a Stillen filter, so maybe thats the problem. The check engine light was orange , not red............please help me out with ideas on the check engine light
