The remote for my Max, locks/unlocks the doors, unlatches the trunk, rolls down the front windows, and sounds the alarm. When I lock the doors with the remote, the hazard lights flash. Anyone know if there is a way to make an audible sound instead of just the flashers.

For example my Pathfinder both sounds and flashes at the same time, when I either lock or unlock the doors with the remote. Also, I think the Altimas honk the horn when the doors are locked.

It's a distinct possibility.

Yes there is a write up in Mods but it sucks, Pics are good for reference though. Basically you need to buy a buzzer from radio shack. In the back of your trunk there is a brown relay. You need to splice into the green/orange wire and the plain orange wire. Now connect the black wire to the green orange wire (there are 3 different one, just pick one) and the red wire to the plain orange wire. Test and viola! Make sure you make your splice wires at least two feet long. In order to hear the buzzer well you should run it out of the drain hole below the spare tire and secure it to the bottom of the car.

Don't listen to the dealer. It possible. A lot of guys have already done this. There's like 3 other threads of this already. Look around.

For those of you that installed the buzzer, is it really necessary? I mean did it make any differences to you?

there is another thread like this that i read a week ago and someone said that same thing, they were gonna use the horn instead of buying hte buzzer, the response was that it will sound weird. i think they said that there would be two long beeps that wont sound right.........
i was suppose to do it last week but i have been monitoring threads like this incase someone thinks of something out of the ordinary that ends up being great......

loverholic: Why not just do the mod? It's simple and can be removed quicker then it was rigged. Do it and change it if something better comes along.

katmandoes: Yeah I posted the thread idea of using the horn already. Concensus was that it wouldn't be right. If you try it..good luck rigging it. Running wires from one side of the car to the other and hiding them all really isn't worth it IMO.

SRSEN1999: It's all your preference. If you like having to look at the car to make sure the ligths flash and know its locked or to just walk away and hear it beep...I'd go with the beep. It cost me $3 and took me 10 minutes to rig. Don't do it cause other people do it, do it if you want to. I don't really see why not tho.

Haha Nissan I didn't even notice that. I'm amazed that after 6 years the answer was "it's a possibility." I dont think MaxRX7 is even on the .org anymore.
