Cornering Lights
Cornering Lights
I bought zenon 1157 bulbs to replace my cornering lights, but how do you take the light out? I took out the screw on both sides and tried prying it out with a screw driver like the manual says, but it isnt coming more than halfway out and i dont want to crack the lense. I already searched, any suggestions?
search harder, a loottt of people ask about this. but always, i answer. there is also a small metal nub that is held in to a socket. youll have to try and look and see it, it holds pretty fast so before you keep prying, try to get a hold of that one and work with it. i chipped a piece of my light back in the day-

Maximadriver.com, Cheston's got directions in his "how2" section.
Hope this helps.

The corner light housing is held on by a small Philips head screw at the top (open hood to access) and by a male stud on the housing that pushes into a plastic receiver in the metal frame of the car. The stud pushes in directly sideways, not fore-and-aft. Once the screw is removed, carefully pry the front end of the lens housing out to the side -- it will be tight, but it WILL come out eventually. I use mostly my fingers and/or a wooden paint-stir stick to spread the force and avoid cracking the lens. Most damage occurs because drivers try to pull out on the REAR of the lens, which is held in place by a tab on the housing that slips longitudinally into a slot in the frame, so it will NEVER pull out the side! Or, they try to force the housing FORWARD, thinking the stud on the housing inserts longitudinally. WRONG! The stud and housing should be pried out SIDEWAYS at the front of the lens.
