Button Backlighting Died

Last little question for tonight:

i have the automatic climate control option. i took my dash apart to see what i would need to do to put a new headunit in. when i put it back together, everything worked fine, but i can no longer see the buttons on the climate control panel at night. has anyone else had this happen? how do i fix it? i have checked for loose connections to no avail.

1. See if you accidentally turned the dimmer down
2. Check for a blown fuse --sometime if you go poking behind the dash where there are a lot of live wires without the battery disconnected, a short could occur
3. If that fails, take apart the dash again and make sure all the clips into the climate control are properly seated.

Good luck

i have done all that, how can i find which cable powers the button backlighting to see if it has power? where would a fuse for that be? kinda small for a whole fuse devoted to it dont you think?

There are fuses for everything. Check your in car fuse panel to the left of your steering wheel. When you pull off the cover, the back has a "map" of sorts which will help you pinpoint the fuse to look at.

I have Climate Control and one day I tryed to take the top a/c vent out. Taking this plastic piece out is an acquired skill and I didn't acquire it that day. I gave up and tryed to bang the vent and surrounding plastic back into place. I eventually got it back into place but my Climate Control button lights stopped working. The digital display still works. I don't know if it's the bulbs or a connection in the CC unit itself.

Ideas, lets see. My defroster light and my hazards were out before I slammed the 'heck' out of the dash. I'm willing to leave the lights alone for now but maybe someday... If you want to replace them search, I did but I can't remember if the bulbs are available from either Nissan or Radio Shack. I think I remember reading they were a couple bucks each. They could just be loose too.
I saved a link that I'm copying here to help you.
