easier way of reseting ecu...

i just heard that in stead of unplugging your battery for many hours to reset your ecu..u can unplug your battery and step on the gas pedal...by doing this your ecu will reset...
". . . we reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery. Electrons remaining in the system were purged by stepping on the brakes, leaving the ECU with no memory."

this is from the june issue of sports compact car...

Tried the umplugging the terminal, doesn't work(havn't tried the pedal though). I just assume reset it at the point under the gas pedal it is just as easy ans you know it will work unless there is a problem.

They stepped on the brakes not the gas pedal. Stepping on the brakes is supposed to consume all remaining stored electrical charges in the car and dissapate it through trying to light the brake lights. Stepping on the gas pedal will do nothing.
