Has anyone done an ECU upgrade for 97-99 max?

I have a ,97 5spd. I did a search on this and it does not look like there are very many options for those with a '97-'99. Has anybody heard(or better yet done the modification) anything new besides using a '95 or '96 ECU? If so any good stuff such as power gains or any problems that have been experienced? Of course I would do other upgrades(exhaust, intake, maybe nitrous ) then get an ECU upgrade according to my specs. Any feedback would be great

Anyone? Anyone?

Has ANYBODY done this?! I also went to maximadriver.com and they have the same info..putting an upgraded 96 ECU on a 97. Has any body used the corresponding ECU for their '97,'98,or '99???

I am determined to find something tonight, does anybody have any websites of companies that do ECUs besides G-force and stillen? I know weapon-R was working on something but they just started, I don't think they have anything yet.

I have heard of this being done but I am reluctant to put a 96 ECU in a 97(from the search here the service engine light comes on..anything major or does it just need to be reset?). Is it reprogrammed or does it have a piggyback? Do you know if he had good results?

Putting either a JWT or G-Force 95-96 ECU into your 97 will work, but you will get a Check engine light, and you can't make it go away. Many members have done this. They are both a reprogrammed ECU, not a piggyback. There are a few other options out there that I've heard of, but all from companies that I personally have no trust or faith in (Weapon R, JET, etc.)

Send a PM to BEJAY1, I was there when he dyno'd a G-force ECU from a 96 in his 97, he saw good gains.
