Which ECU pin is pin 1?

I decided to try tapping directly into the ECU for my shift light, but when I was looking for pin 1 I couldn't find the green/white wire I was looking for. I know pin 1 should be one of the four corners, but can someone tell me which it is? If I was going to guess I would say that pin 1 was probably at the bottom, but I don't know which side it is. Could you also make sure you tell me whether "top right (or whatever" and from which side to look at the ECU connector (from the back, etc.). Colors don't help too much, but if you could give me your colors that would be a start.
Thanks

I just looked at the wires and the colors are (looking at the ECU wires from the back) : Top left (purple/blue), Top Right (red/silver), Bottom Left (Black/Purple), Bottom Right (white/silver)

I've never seen any of those colors mentioned before If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. Then I think it's time to invest in a FSM.

Wire the shift light to the #1 coil.

Thanks for the reply, but that means nothing to me. Which would that be? I don't know the order of any of the pins.

On my 95 ECU, pin #1 does not correspond to a pin on the outer edge.

I'd suggest you check a 99 Service manual, but I'll give you the info from the 95 Service manual.

Looking in to the harness connector (terminal opening, NOT back where you can see the wires):

The general shape is as follows (sorry, it comes up messed up): ___
xxxx xxxx 1xx x | | xxx x xx xxxx xxx x
xxxx xxxx xxxxx x | | xxxxx xx xxxxxxxxxx x
xxxx xxxx xxxx x | | xxxxx xx xxxxxxxxx x
xxxx ___ xx xx xxxxx xxx x

You can copy this and paste it in notepad (it'll look like how it's intended). Looking in to the front of the harness connector (looking at the terminals, not the wires), you will see:

1st bunch (3 rows x 4 columns)
2nd bunch (same as 1st)

3rd bunch, uneven. Three on first row, it's the top left. Wire color on mine is yellow w/ red strip. Mine's a 95

Hope it helps.

That was a good diagram especially for text Thomas sent me the FSM page, but yours would have helped just as much. I still can't get my shift light to work though Every time I ground the Harlan my tach drops to 0. I guess maybe I should post in the 5th gen forum since my ECU is closer to theirs.
