Yeah, I kind of raced one once with my 5spd. I was going home from work and this old man pulled up in one of those pieces of ****. I was just chillin' then when the light turned green I heard his wheels chirp so I figured he wanted some(could have let me know, maybe I will see his sorry a$$ at the track). Of course he had the jump on me but I was pulling on him like hell until I had to turn at the next light. I know these cars have more H.P. than ours but I am not sure about torque( I am guessing they would have us at higher speeds). I am pretty sure, though, that I would have had him at the track.

250hp/5600rpm for the 92-96 SC400s

their transmission is pretty lazy with shifts and the traction control stops most chirp on take off by taking power away fromt he drive wheels I believe

0-60 times range from 7.0-7.6

now the 97+s have a 5spd Auto with a 290hp VVti V8 their performance is much improved
0-60 times range from 6.1-6.7

I have no info on 1/4 times (the lexus guys really arent into that haha surprise surprise)

the cars will pull strongly at freeway speeds... thats where they shine

all in all beautiful cars but without the edge that the Maxima has

I know a guy down here with one. His is a 95. He's got an intake, borla mufflers and ignition upgrades. His best time at the track was 14.8 (this was the same night I ran my 15.2, it was a fast night for everyone).

But, from a 60mph roll, he's dead even with 2K2THEMAX's 2k2 GLE (which runs 14.3)...

when I was not boosted I raced one they are very quick on the highway!!! I dont know how quick now I am sure I can still take one with 14.8 at the track I ran 14.6 with heavy 18's. God knows what my time will be with lighter wheels.

wow I didnt see that

the car defintely isnt a POS, I'm in the market for one as a second car cuz... the Maxima has no class and the car is an amazingly refined car, if you want speed get an SC300 and do a TT Suprea swap... I want an SC400 for luxury, class, style, and comfort- it smokes the Max in those aspects just like a '97+ SC400 will smoke a regular Max at the track
