Can you change odometer from kms to miles?

I bought my Maxima in Canada, and so the odometer is in Kilometers. Is there any easy way to change it over to Miles? Or is this a dealer thing? If dealer, does anyone have any guesses on how much it would cost? I'm ok with doing the conversion, but if it is cheap or easy, then I would love to forget the whole 5/8 multiplication table. Thanks!

Unless you plan on changing your meter, there's nothing much you can do.

I'm not sure but is the needle sweep the same for km/h & mph?

For my gauge (95 SE), it peaks out at 140mph or >220 km/h.

If your km/h gauge also peaks out at around 220 km/h, you might be lucky and just have to get a gauge overlay. I dunno though.

(Your odo & trip would still be in km though)

1 kilometer = 5/8 of a mile

55 mph = 88 kph

Easy way to remember....

Or a less accurate way is 20 km/h = 12mph, and just use multiples of 2. I think it's better (but less accurate) than the 55mph = 88km/h.

20km/h = 12mph, 40km/h=24mph, 60km/h=36mph, 80km/h=48mph, etc.

By the time you're at 100km/h, you'll be calculating 60mph (actual is 62.5mph, not too far off).

My gauges are in MPH - that is a straight tranfer, no recalibration needed for accuracy.

Ben, I know the conversions, and I can do them pretty quickly, but I'm still lazy and would prefer it in miles. Do you have any thoughts on the EPROM? I've heard that's where that info is stored.
