I don't think you have a chance...especially where you have an auto - those new WRXs are really fast.

 

I just raced one three days ago, Monday to be exact he messed up we started from a slow roll and I was in second getting ready to shift the third, he put at least a car length on me when he punched instantly, but since I quickly shifted to third caught him and passed him very fast. On the highway at high speeds you should be able to somewhat walk him. They are very fast the minute they hit that gas!!!so weak on the highway deadly at the redlight!!!even if your boosted!!!so get them at least from somewhat of a roll like I did.

 

so is there any possible way a modded max can beat a WRX with the modded ECU (300hp)?

supercharger (or turbo, whichever you prefer)

y-pipe
b-pipe
muffler
cat
NOS
and maybe new computer?

 

If you really want the best performance for the money and look good, then get a C5 Z06. 0->60 4.6 secs, Porche 911 Carrera 4.7.
The scoobys are good, but still $26k, too much to pay for a 4-cyl, same goes for the piece of **** S2k.

 

Yes, a 4th geb Maxima is far better in looks & luxury than a Subie.

CAI = 6 whp. y-pipe = 12 whp. The two together does not equal 18 whp...more like 15hp

All-Wheel-Drive cars will eat FWD cars for lunch all day everyday from a dead-stop!
Your SC'd maxima will smoke a WRX if you have a longer race...upto 100 mph. On a 0-60, if the WRX can launch (rev the rpm's over 4K & drop the clutch)...you are toast my friend.

On a site note: CAI, Y-pipe, SC, gauges etc. will cost you over $5,000 installed. If the WRX decides to put down the same kinda cash on go-fast mods, he will smoke you all day everyday, from dead-stop or from a roll...

Dollar for dollar, a WRX will go faster than a Maxima.

The MaximaSC is running stock pulley.
The TurboMax 5psi is from Nigel's dyno.
The WRX stage XX dyno's are from Turboxs.com website.


From a roll, a boosted Max ($4,500 mods) can easily beat a stock or Stage 2 WRX.
From a dead-stop, no comparatively modded Maxima can beat a WRX

 

The 2 cars listed first are great cars but they're also $45K+. I prefer the 2 wheeled version of a honda. My 01 cbr600F4i was about $8000 new. It can run 10's in the 1/4 mile stock with a good rider, it looks great and its cheap!
