'97 Maxima question

A friend of mine has a '00 Maxima and I really like the car. How much changed from that of a '97 Maxima to that of a '00? Is the suspension different, is the motor the same, and how about the tranny? (automatic)

Thanks in advance for the info!

Ted

Actually, I should have asked about more than just '97's. I'm looking at '95 to '97's Maxima's currently so that's why I'm asking what the differences are.

TIA!

You're not getting a lot of responses because this can be found with some research. Check out the FAQ stickies at the top of the 4th and 5th Gen Forums and also use the 'search' feature at this site...

Here's a START

95-99 had a 3.0L 190hp 205tq, 2k-2k1 had a 3.0L 222hp engine but weighs a bit more and body styling is completely different, especially rear end. i find that the 4th gen max's shift much better, but if your a good driver the 95-96 max should actually be faster than a 2000 dispite power difference. if your looking for an auto u will prolly be better off with a 2000, but i prefer 4th gen, good luck.

Re: '97 Maxima question

For the 1997 model year restyled front bumper and no crease across the back of the trunk.
