not worth it??

i am thinking about taking off the MAXIMA lettering on the back of my car. now i just bought it and its a 96 in good condition, but if i pull the letters off will there be imprints of the maxima lettering left over because the paint that the lettering was over was not exposed to water, sun, and other corrosion factors?

I've been thinking of taking off the burger emblem on my trunk, I've heard to use some goo-be-gone and give it a good waxing, should be fine.

(Oh yeah, in before locked)

I took the burger off my 97 WHITE SE...looked OK, but there was definitely an "outline" of what was once there...I used a clay bar,
and now its perfect!!! AND, it came off soo easily

I think the Goo-Gone is more if you have glue still there.

hope this helps!

Its worth it. I shaved the hamburger and the lettering and there was no sign of fading. Do a search, Im sure this topic has been gone over a few hundred times.

What color is your Max, wondering if this might make a difference. I just shaved the emblems on my 99 Sunlit Sand SE, and you can definitely see where the paint has not faded under the emblems, though it's usually not noticeable unless the light is just right. I haven't put the clay bar to it yet tho...
