LSD question>>>
No, I'm not looking for hallucinogens...
I've read a few posts about people wanting to get LS for their tranny, supposed to provide more power to one wheel if the other one is slipping...
Here's my question: what's the mechanism that Nissan uses in their LSD to provide for this? A Subaru salesman told me while I was test driving an Impreza RS 2.5 (*really* under-powered, BTW), that the Subaru 4WD system uses a liquid power transfer sump'm sump'm. Is this close to what Nissan does?
Oh, and here's a stupid question...
I've also heard about some cars being driven by only one wheel... my '90 RX7 had "posi-traction" rear differential that had both rear wheels driving the car. Does the Maxima have both front wheel driving the car, or is it just one? If only one, is it the left or the right?
I'll bet DB Martin has some good info on this.

I also have a question regarding the diff in the maxima.
If my maxima has an open differential, then why does it spin both tires every time I do a burnout? I have plenty of witnesses to my two-wheel peels... and you hear a chirp from both sides when I chirp 2nd gear.
Does a design feature in the front end of the maxima make it spin both tires with an open diff, or did someone replace the tranny/diff on this car before I got it?

No, it's not a canada version. It's a SE originally bought in connecticut.
I jacked it up and tried spinning one wheel, the other one spinned in the opposite direction.
So I just don't get it. Every time I peel out, both tires spin. I'm not complaining :-)
Is there any way to identify the tranny as one made for the limited slip diff?
