Why the hell can't we get a "chip" for our cars?

 

I don't know what the stats are on the maxima..but ofcourse the Gti smoked you.

AWW - 2000, 2001 engines..wiht chip goes to about 205 hp, 245 torque.

AWP - 2002 engine gives a little more then above.

So ofcourse a chipped gti smoked you.

Also my 1.8T 2002 Jetta can beat out any of the maximas on this forum..chipped..exhaust..intaked..whatever..I'll still beat you..any takers?

Hm i wouldn't doubt it... with a simple chip, those things fly. The one i saw was pretty light weight looking and older model.

 

also someone wrote up there. Why isnt there a chip for a Maxima??? I know the stock Maxima does not come with a turbo. But I'm sure there must be a bolt on kit for them.

Wow you are in the 12's in the 1/4 already? That's what some of the more modded maximas are running.

 

Okay, Im comming from a VW scene I was all about VW and you dont have to have a turbo to have a chip.

or shorcut http://home.attbi.com/~jmrecker/gtimax.mpg and you will see a Max walking a 1.8t. Are you talking stock VS stock? I am also suprised nobody mentions VR6. You don't have to have to do much with those to make them fast it could have been just that. I had a chip in my lil 2.slow and it added 13-15hp, 8-10tq, removed the rev limiter, speed governor, and adjusted the fuel curve. All that for $135, gotta love it. But my VW kept breaking down and that is why I bought the Max.

 

hey guys... just surfing the net... and seen a post in the vwvortex bout you site just thought i would check it out... just some words or experiences...

1.8t:

chip (adds anywhere from 30-60 hp) and 40-60 tq...

that one post of the chip giving the guy 230 hp is a lie... the apr stage 3 kit for the 1.8t gives 290 hp (this is with a t3/t4) i doubt that the ko3 with just a chip will be able to output 230... he must have an ams chip (those claims are bogus)...

secondly... i do have a chip... actually chips...

1.1bar good for low 14's
1.3bar good for high 13's

with my mods:

intake cai, exhaust, hks bov, chips...

my car has done 155 on the freeway took me 23-27 seconds to hit that speed...

cars with the DOWNPIPE... have a quicker spool up than i do... this means they pick up speed faster...
in conjunction to the dp some run a test pipe... this gives the car straight air from the turbo to the tip of the exhaust...

with all of these mods i believe someone hit low 13's...

yes the power is astounding with a chip and some minor mods... but i raced a supercharged maxima... and had my *** handed to me... see you around...

I used to walk all over my friend's 2k2 1.8T Jetta, but eversince he got the chip, and I got the rims I'm no competition for him. I'm waiting for my y-pipe now, but I think 2k2 Max with some mods, should be able to hold no problem.

 

what do you run in the 1/4 ? 10s? 9s? 8s? 6s? 5s? 4s? 3s? 2s? 1? less than 1?

 

i wouldn't be surprised in the least if he went back in time.
