Be advised they are discontinued and any warranty claim will be filled with old stock A05 or current comparable Toyo 800 I think is the designator.

The spare tire (at least mine) is wrapped with an A05. You should check out your spare. You might just find a pleasant surprise awating you.

That said, any time you replace tires, you want the tread-depth (i.e. wear) to be comparable on both sides so that the grip is not mismatched.

I have a full sized spare (16") with an identical SE rim and the same Toyo tire. I was surprised as well. Turns out, it was an option as part of a package when new. Atleast for Canadian models.

Yah, we also get the perks of having the VLSD on the 5 spd SE's, as well as paying significantly less for cars than our neighbours to the south, even on american cars made south of the border.

Yeah, I have a full sized tire. It's good & bad. Good when I need it but bad in that it's more weight than a donut. btw, my Max is a '97.

Oh c'mon!!! What's the weight difference between a full size spare and a space saver spare? 25 pounds at the VERY most. Do you think there will be any measurable gains or losses on a 3000-3100 lbs car when you add or take away 25 lbs?

Chill bud. I'm just pointing out the pros/cons. To answer your question in short, no, it makes no discernable difference to me.
