How do you know if your MAF is dead?

how do you know if you MAF is dead? Also kinda confused, is it a little sensor or the bigger black box?

its to the left of the big black box.....its a black tube, with a pink sticker on it....i always thought that you got a CEL with it....

If its DEAD, you SHOULD get the CEL code, and maybe the car wont start...and the MAF is the black box with the sticker as stated above...

Your car will not idle and barely run if its dead...it will also throw a code...it comtrols the air to fuel mix and stuff

your car will not rev past 2500 rpm... if you can get it started...

The MAFS doesn't always throw a code. I know from experience. Best way to diagnose your MAFS is by testing the voltage. This topic has been covered before but I'll throw you a bone this time. Please try a search next time.
