Painted logo emblems??

Has anybody tried replacing their grill and trunk badges/lettering with the same one except painted to match body color? If so, please post pics.

i wonder how it would look on a white max...i was thinking about painting them but not sure which color would look good. the gold is starting to fade so i dunno, and i don't want to go chrome cuz everyone has it.

I checked with the dealership a while back about the cost of each piece and from what I remember, they weren't all that expensive. That way it would already have the sticky-back .

i was driving behind a 2000/2001 today and noticed the nissan emblem on the back was chrome with black on the inside...i think that could look pretty neat on a white 4th generation. anyone find anything else about painted emblems or have any good ideas?

I like the body color emblym look. It was either shave mine or paint them. I actually ended up shaving the rear and painting the front:

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments. It actual won't look anything like that after this summer. I've had a '97 front end sitting in my garage since last X-Mas break!

i have a 99 SE-L and for some reason the "MAXIMA" logo on the back came in titanium but the "nissan" came in standard chrome..looks uncoordinated..why did Nissan do this? probly to save an extra .05 cents building each SE-L

ptatohed...i must say the front end looks very nice. maybe its just me and i own a 95/96...but with the front lip i really like the front ends of our 95/96's. just seems like everyone else has the 97+ and if they dont they want to get the front end. i have grown fond of the "big mouth" on the lower bumper. just my .02

I hear you Req. Trust me man, I thought about this looooong and hard. I too like the '95/'96 front. I don't think the '97/'99 is that much better. Just a hair. A hair meaner looking too. I think it is perhaps an A- if the '95/'96 is a B+. I do like the foglights better but the mouth is pretty much equal. In fact, I like the '95/'96 grill much better. So it isn't worth the hundreds I spent for the look of the '97 nose alone. Where the real beauty lies is in the '97/'99 Stillen lip! I loooooooooove that thing. I don't know if it is just me but I never could get my '96 to line up without a gapping seem. The '97 wraps up and over and sits within the lower air dam and foglights. NO SEEM!! That, and it has those cool, little airdamns. So that's why Req.

ptato...has everyone had the fitment probs with the 95/96 lip? i have been thinking hard about getting one...if they dont fit well thats a big bummer. and i do like the 97+ lip, but i like a little more subtle/stock look and the 95/96 lip doesnt make the car look too out of the ordinary in my opinion. i love the sleeper look. i just hope the lip doesnt have overall bad fitment

I can't speak for everyone Req. but I can say I had a heck of a time. I tried all sorts of things and the front never stayed on perfect. You might want to ask around and see what others say. Perhaps request some up-close pics.
