replacing dash lights on a 99 SE

well me and my friend went to replace his dash lights on his 99SE and the wedge bulbs we bought (194/168) dont fit. We were under the impression that the wedge bulbs would fit but i guess not. can someone elaborate on this??

thanks

97+ are not 194s

They are mysterious bulbs that no one can find aftermarket replacements for. Other than the stock ones that can be bought at your local Nissan dealer.

Your SOL if you want to replace the dash lights for a 97+

There is no difference in the different trim levels.

Don't believe me, do a search. You'll get no responses from anyone who has sucessfully changed the dash bulbs for 97+ ... in fact, you'll get a faster response if you search.

I' searched before but didnt notice anything to what you are saying. I will try again.

What I did was I pulled the wedge style bulbs out and in their place I soldered a resistor and a 5volt LED. They work but since the LEDS i had dont spread light around like a bulb (i tihnk somewher around 15-30 degree angle on these)..I have light spots and the whole cluster is dim. I will look into it and report back if i get something working. Thanks for the heads up.. had i ordered the 194s id be SOL too
