Yeah I heard about this happening... Well my car has 154,000 miles on it so i'm sure that's the problem then.

hey guys i just wanted to put my input on Tommy's block-off plate, all I have to say is THIS ***** AWESOME!!!! if anyone ever had an idle problem on the 00VI swap into a 4th gen using the 5th gen throttle body and IACV this may really solve your problem, believe me it has made wonders for my cold starting problem and top end is hella nice too. I give a major 2 thumbs up to this part and dealing with Tommy has been really smooth. I'll post up some pics in a bit thanks again man

^^^ well i have a supercharger installed on it so the dips not really felt, but ish pulls harder then before. And by the way the max starts now in the cold, if i felt the dip, i'd say its hella worth it

Oh youre SC'd?!? Then its a wrap!! You got the game on lock! SC makes up for that dip down low! One of the key factors in me deleting VIAS and the power rod was that Im going SC in the future so Im building my motor up for it.

ok so I have to order some metal to make some throttle and feedpipe brackets. If anyone wants a block off plate let me know. If I do not hear anything I'll just order enough to make 1 or 2

I'm going to be replacing the intake manifold gaskets soon I might as well do this so I'm very interested, but since I'm an auto I'm worried about losing low end. If I don't lose low end consider it sold to me, pm me your paypal and I'm ready when you are.

I would have to say yes you will but how much I can not say as I has a boost 5spd and everyone that purchased one was also 5spd.

I would suggest removing the power rod drive the car see if you like it and go from there

Without the power rod isn't the car getting more air? I don't see why I would lose low end

Another thing, wouldn't acceleration be smoother with the power rod gone even at low end? I would give up a couple hp low end if acceleration throughout becomes much smoother.

the best example I have is when I dyno'd with a mevi. I dyno'd with the mevi working then again with it tied open and loss about 7hp/8tq at around 3600 rpms. This is about the same as removing the power rod or like removing the vias on a 3.5 intake.

imho, I would not remove the power rod if the car is stock unless the vias is broken. Now if you have or planning to extend the rev limiter, add cams, IHE, boost or tune the car via a safc2/vafc2/eu/jwt ecu which will allow you to gain back what was loss in the mid range

Ok thanks after further searching I'm not willing to risk the low/mid range power especially since I'm auto.

I am pretty sure my VIAS isn't working as it feels like I hit a brick wall when rpm's 5k. Going to remove power rod instead of doing to JB weld fix on VIAS cup. When trying to remove power rod which side does it slide out of? If I am happy with the way it feels with power rod removed I would like to purchase one of your bop's. It will work on my 01 SE 20th correct?

VIAS cups are know to go bad on the DE-k thus leaving the power rod stuck in whatever position it was in last.
