FXR HID Projector retrofit headlight complete with Morimoto XB 55 W bulbs, Morimoto Relay, and 55W Morimoto ballasts. I have this on my car for 5+ years. This is probably the best single projector retrofit I've done for 5th gen headlights. The projectors are tucked in deep to give it a clean OEM looks.
I have received many compliments with this setup, people thought that I have day time running lights due to the amber paint on the reflector. Really transforms the car's front end looks.
Current Condition.
1. No sign of light output decrease. The FXR projectors bowl and coating material are one of the best out there (Aluminum casting and thick reflector coating). I must say, that even though this is 5+ years old, the output still better than most newer car with stock HID out on the road.
2. Have been super reliable and no sign of condensation under normal rain. It rains constantly here in PNW during the wet season. I do not recommend pressure washing the headlights. IF you pressure wash it it would show a little bit but it should clear out.
3. The passenger side mounting tabs, both, were cracked. It was once cracked before. This the second time (same spot). I welded the same type of plastic material and reinforced it with epoxy. Funny thing is I didn't have any condensation at all even with those cracks and its probably been like this for a while. Repaired plastic tab, especially with a wonky job like mine (didn't have a decent plastic welder) would never be as strong as the original. I did the best to repair it, but understand that this is a band aid job. The right thing to do is to source a good used OEM housing and transfer all the guts in it. I would not use aftermarket housing at all.
3. Front lens are aftermarket and was replaced 2 years ago (see thread above).
4. Ballast are mismatched. The black one was the very first gen of 55W Mori, the white one is a little newer. I had wrapped the harness with electrical tape to give it more protection (see pics) due to previous modification to the harness. Never flicker and always starts, but they are old, who knows how long it would last.
5. Height adjustment are OEM and working. I had this level with my car and I'm on Htech spring.
Showing the crack right after I took it off the car. I think the crack was there due to heat cycle and vibration of the car. It was once repaired.
Fused the same plastic to the area and melt it together.
The other tab repaired with fusing the same plastic and epoxy reinforcement.
Reinforced the area of the main mounting tab Epoxy.
I used to provide warranty on new build but since this is 5+ years old, I'm selling this AS IS. Shipping is probably around $50-$60.
