programming keyless remote.

Does any1 know the instructions on how to program a remote fot he 5th gen maxima? I did a search and came up with the instructions for the 4th gen Its true the same method werks, but what doesnt work is it does not clear all the previous remotes stored, so the 5th gen must differ in some way. I found the link to the courtesy website but it no longer works. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

This tells you how to reprogram your keyfob (NOT light/horn to just lights) if you should get a new key or keyfob...if so please reference a page number...

Thanks!

Yup but for a 4th gen.

We are specifically asking for the 5th gen because the one post that had contained a link...the link no longer works...hence the new post.

Tried Search

Have a friend who needs to reprogram his original fobs for his 2000 GXE. We cannot find 5th gen reprogramming instructions through/with search (but found this thread) and we had no luck finding it in the 2000 owners manual.

Any info would be appreciated.

Are you asking how to disable the horn when locking the car? Your question seems a little confusing.

Get in the car, and shut the door, slowly and deliberately insert and remove the ignition key until the hazards flash at you, this might take a while depending on how you stroke the key. IIRC the ECU looks for the key to be inserted and removed 5 times to activate programming mode, but if you don't do it just right it will take forever. Once the hazards flash, just push the lock on the new Fob, and your done, if you have 2 Fobs, push the lock buttons on both remotes.
